  • Watching The Ruins
  • PROJECTS icon I saw 'The Ruins' for the very first time yesterday. And can I just ask, what's the "unrated" all about? I am looking at the cover and the menu and they all scream: "The Ruins Unrated" at me and while I am watching it I am wondering what exactly was too horrible for theaters??

Click the READ MORE button to read my opinion of the movie, watch out for spoilers (and lots of them).

  • 411 interview
  • PROJECTS icon 411's Tony Farinella sits down with Jonathan Tucker for an exclusive interview!

Jonathan Tucker is easily one of the most underrated male actors in Hollywood today. In his career, he has worked on such films as The Virgin Suicides, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hostage, and In the Valley of Elah. In my interview with Jonathan Tucker, we talked about his new film, The Ruins, which is currently available on DVD. I hope you enjoy my interview with Jonathan Tucker.

TONY: It goes without saying that The Ruins is not your typical horror film. Is that what attracted you to the project in the first place?
Jonathan Tucker: Absolutely. It's based on a wonderful book. Scott Smith is a terrific writer and has an incredible imagination. And then the below-the-line team that was put together from Dreamworks on down. Carter Smith's short, Bugcrush, was something that disturbed me for days, and Darius Khondji is one of my favorite cinematographers. Everybody was top of the line, so to speak, and then the cast was wonderful. The whole project was very different, and it's not really a horror film. It's a bit creepier than the average story.
