ONE TO WATCH
Glenn got stuck in traffic from the airport, having just arrived from LA, so he was a half hour late for our interview. I don't
like to wait. But when he walked in with his pretty blond girlfriend, he looked so travel-weary and cute that my annoyance
disappeared. You will recognize him as Mark, Becky's foxy lovah on Roseanne. He is also playing Cedric, the youngest son in ABC's
new 90210-esque medieval show Covington Cross, which he decided to do because the role is so different from "the greaser Joe Schmo
from Chicago" he plays on Roseanne. "You get swords and horses and an 11th century castle," says Glenn. He's also in the upcoming
film Dr Giggles, a thriller starring Larry Drake from LA Law. Glenn, who is 22, moved to LA from Ireland five years ago. "I had a
very humble upbringing in Dublin," he said. "I moved over with my mother for a better lifestyle, better salaries, really just
better opportunity. You can do anything here if you put your mind to it." Two years later he decided to try acting. Glenn's first
film role was in Shout, starring John Travolta and Jamie Walters, as a drummer who played in Jamie's band. He's never studied
acting. "Classes scare me," he says. "They try to sculpt you. If you have it, you have it." But Glenn did do a lot of work to get
rid of his Irish accent ("taping myself, watching countless movies trying to learn the pronouncements"), which is now ever so
faint. But cute.
